The Regional Product Support Manager for the Eastern U.S. will be responsible for the supervision and management of an assigned group of Heavy Equipment District Product Support Managers (DPSM).  Responsibilities include performance evaluations, salary reviews, interviewing and hiring, and training and development of the DPSM’s.  This role will provide front line support by mentoring and directing DPSM’s through critical dealer or end-user negotiations and formal dealer evaluations, Dealer PS Review, and managing department expenses to remain within budgetary guidelines.  This role will also be responsible for profitable revenue growth of the Heavy Equipment Parts business in North America. The incumbent will drive dealer parts ordering activities through opportunity identification and capture, strategic sales program planning and execution, rigorous account management, and tight coordination/implementation with the field staff.

Role & Responsibility

Management of District Product Support Managers

  • Provide guidance for continued development and improvement of each assigned DPSM
  • Maintain MBO (management by objective) and People Program Information System criteria for each direct report.
  • Create and manage parts forecast and sales budgets tied to team targets
  • Develop and execute staff training programs
  • Identify high potential DPS’s, and design development specific to next career level or position

Fiscal Responsibility

  • Track incremental profit growth related to parts sales performance
  • Administer and control annual budget
  • Manage Regional Commercial Policy budget
  • Minimize risks associated with customer or dealer issues

Strategic Account Management

  • Cultivate relationships with key larger accounts to drive dealership parts and service performance improvements
  • Identify regional/national/gov’t account opportunities and create support processes

Channel Development

  • Support new dealer set up and dealer termination processes
  • Develop, execute, and evolve the dealer’s field parts review program and Dealer Service Review (i.e.scorecard)
  • Equitable resolution of customer complaints which insures retention and growth of our customer base through increased customer satisfaction.
  • Manage Dealer action plans for both parts and service improvement plans through the DPSM’s
  • Create and sustain programs that enhance dealer parts stock order planning and retail sales execution within their local markets
  • Identify, develop and implement dealer parts and service training programs

Job Requirement

  • Technical background
  • Experience with heavy equipment a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Goal oriented
  • Must have assertive negotiation skills, with a demonstrated capability to persuade
  • Strong Microsoft Office and presentation skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Experience:  5>7 years of experience in similar role, must have supervisory experience, and experience working with the Company dealer channel.
  • Travel required: 65%+
