Job Information

The Quality Specialist will be responsible for product quality data supporting the Heavy Equipment business.  This role will maintain quality data and provide the global PS, Quality, and Engineering teams with data to increase overall machine quality.

Role & Responsibility

Product Quality Data

  • Maintain Product Quality data from IRW (Tavant) warranty claims and TIR (Technical Investigation Reports) from District Product Support Managers (DPSM) and Product Service Mangers (PSM).
  • Investigate and maintain quality data that is needed for reporting from the DPSMs, PSMs, and Doosan North American Dealers.
  • Present quality data at Monthly Product Quality Meeting to inform PSMs, DPSMs, and cross-functional leadership of current state of quality issues.
  • Daily interaction with PSMs and DPSMs on current ongoing quality issues
  • Convey quality data to Korean and Norway PS, Quality, and Engineering for North American Quality issues. Conduct monthly meeting with Korean and Norway PS, Quality, and Engineering to drive overall Doosan machine quality.

Analysis of Service and Quality Issues

  • Support Heavy warranty and Product Service group in investigating product quality issues, gather and analyze data, determine root cause & recommend corrective action or engineering spec changes to prevent the failure from reoccurring.
  • Work closely with the Quality and Service Department - to participate in warranty reviews and assist PSM with improvement activity.
  • Provide guidance to field staff on engineering issues that may arise regarding service, quality, warranty, etc.
  • Monitor and assist with creation and tracking of service and quality issues in Nex2u system.
  • Work with Korean PS and QA team to obtain swift resolution.

IT Data Accuracy

  • Maintain quality data from warranty claim data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain complete quality data from Technical Investigation reports and develop best practice system to house information for reporting accuracy and data storage

New Product Development

  • Hold an active role in new product development through support, communication, and voicing the needs of our customers and dealers relative to current product quality, reliability and serviceability.
  • Have quarterly meeting with NA Product group to cover all Quality issues that need to be recognized in future products.

Job Requirement

  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Heavy Equipment product knowledge is a plus
  • Engine & hydraulic knowledge is a plus
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to follow written instructions.
  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Experience:  2>5 years
  • Travel:  < 10%
