Job Information

This is a leadership position responsible for project management scheduling, communication, project gap analysis, product/project cost, margin analysis and resource needs. This position is not responsible for direct reports.

This person will be responsible for utilizing portfolio management (identifying and managing resource requirements, timing and budgetary aspects of Company’s program portfolio) as well as utilizing the company’s PPM system.  The position will interface at all levels, cross functionally, throughout the North America organization.

Role & Responsibility

Project Management

  • Maintain multiple Microsoft Project schedules for New Product Development and other programs.
  • Develop and maintain meeting schedules, program review dates, Annual Operating Plan / Long Range Plan requirements, training, etc.
  • Develop and monitor project finance, quality, customer, and schedule objectives.

Initializing Portfolio Management

  • Maintain Import of key project information into the portfolio management system: Tooling Data, Project Finance Data - Month to Date, Year to Date, Production to Date (Hours-Subcontract and Engineering Costs), Infrastructure / Enterprise inter-company charges/ special initiatives tracking.
  • Coordinate miscellaneous Reporting requests specific to the project, program, or portfolio.  
  • Distribute monthly reporting packages.
  • Prepare and distribute Risk Assessment documentation.

Job Requirement

  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience Required: 5>7 years
  • Travel Required: 25>50%
  • Computer skills:  Candidate must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite of applications and specifically possess Microsoft Project skills.
  • Financial analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Previous experience in team development activities along with experience utilizing scrum or agile team methodologies. 
  • Strong innovation focus with experience developing and implementing new technologies.
  • Record of success in previous leadership positions.


Scope of this position involves interacting with all functional areas within the company. Analytical example would be to manage valid comparisons of key project forecasted data versus actual with the ability to ascertain root causes of variances, etc.

This person must understand critical path and interdependency concepts with the ability to identify slack in projects using certain project management tools, specifically Microsoft Project.

New Product Development requires detailed technical management skills. By using the available resources and the New Product Development Stage Gate Process, the manager must assure that the end product meets the specific requirements laid out at the beginning of the project. This overall task requires careful guidance and direction of various levels of subordinates on both detail technical issues and overall strategic project coordination and integration.
