Job Information

This position provides a critical communication link between Bobcat Company’s field staff, customers, and dealers and the internal teams who support them.  This position assists the Product Service Manager in resolving field service issues, identifying and communicating emerging issues, researching and administering field modifications, serviceability assessments on new or competitive products, and training field staff on new products.

This position will drive improvements in service support capability for T4 engines and emissions controls including electronic engine control systems, HPCR fuel systems, and exhaust gas after-treatment systems.

Role & Responsibility

Communication of Product Concerns

  • Participate in Product Quality Team (PQT)  meetings to provide information regarding field service experience such as service troubleshooting cases, warranty data and feedback from field service staff.
  • Retrieve and summarize warranty and service parts sales data to assist Product Service Managers and/or lead determination of root cause and corrective actions for field failures.

Service Support

  • Administer Field Modification Process for assign products.
  • Some travel will be required during the year to visit dealers/customers, manufacturing sites, present at Dealer Service Manager Seminars or assist in Service Training.

New Product Development

  • Lead or assist Product Service Managers in performing serviceability evaluations on new or competitive equipment.

Product Update Training

  • Assist in training field service personnel on new products and assist the Training Department with field schools on a limited basis as needed.

Technical Resource

  • Have a good working knowledge of Bobcat Company products including Compact Construction Equipment, Attachments and Utility Vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot field service issues received from dealers.
  • Be a technical resource to assist Service Troubleshooters with resolving field service issues.
  • Provide technical assistance to dealer personnel, Regional and District Service Managers and the Product Development Group. 

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • 2+ years’ experience preferred with compact equipment and product support.
  • Some mechanical and equipment troubleshooting experience.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Presentation skills (to groups ranging from 10-20 people).
  • Excellent cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Effective time management and priority focus skills.
  • Strong analytical aptitude.
  • MS Office Suite proficiency.
  • Minitab experience preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Travel Required: 10% - 25%.
