Job Information

Locations: Gwinner, Bismarck, Wahpeton, ND

Lead the geographically aligned Supply Chain Team in planning, ordering, and scheduling material integrity to enable attainment of daily build schedule requirements while maintaining acceptable inventory levels in each North American Parts Control Area.

Lead the process for planning and implementing Engineering Change Notices (ECN). Pursue productivity strategies to obtain improvements with existing production parts. Lead the process for managing and sourcing material/inventory and for meeting operational requirements for inventory levels throughout North America. Develop, implement, optimize, and manage material deliveries to line side. Manage and control shipping and receiving of whole goods and components.

Role & Responsibility

Supply Chain Team Management

  • Manages and directs the activities of 10-12 North American Buyer/Planners.  This may include the relationship management of the 3PL inventory control staff and temp employees.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including marketing, manufacturing, product planning teams and engineering to develop commodity strategies in conjunction with Global Commodity Leader.

Supplier Management

  • Manage negotiations and long-term agreements for regional suppliers
  • Responsible for quality, cost, supplier alliances, information sharing, customer support and technological advancement
  • Responsible for PCA/MSC management from receipt to delivery
  • Oversee all receiving metrics related to supplier to customer relationships

Supply Chain Process and Planning Management

  • Lead multiple projects to improve supply chain costs, productivity, and quality of commodities
  • Keep abreast of market conditions and changes within the supplier organization that may affect our relationship(s) within their team
  • Knowledgeable with regards to commodities they are responsible for and maintain a good working awareness of Company products
  • Oversee the team responsible for maintaining the inventory and planning function attributes in Oracle, such as order multiples and lead-times
  • Oversee the bring-in of purchased parts to meet build schedule requirements
  • Manage inventory levels to achieve forecasted turn rates
  • Ensures effective ECN implementations
  • Oversee past due purchase order management
  • Manage the daily governance of Gwinner to ensure communication that enables transparency to operations   

Job Requirement

  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Experience Required: 7>10 years
  • Travel Required: <10%
  • Direct reports may sit in different locations across North Dakota
  • APICS, CPIM, Green Belt or Black Belt training and/or certification is preferred
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills
  • Needs to be able to read and understand engineering drawings and the New Product Development and Sourcing processes
  • Able to train and mentor those that he/she supervises in the necessary skills for buying and planning as well as shipping and receiving
  • Skilled in the use of Oracle for planning and scheduling preferred
  • Primary role is to drive both productivity and operations excellence
  • Must be a strong team leader and able to motivate teams locally and in geographically separated locations
  • Must be collaborative in leadership style
