Job Information

The primary responsibility of this role is to transfer material manually by hand (steel is the raw material), or utilizing a manual pallet jacket or using a lifting device attached to a hoist called out within the standard work.

Shift Details:  Our 2nd Shift is scheduled from 4:30PM - 3:00AM, 10 hour shifts (2 15 minute breaks and 30 minutes dinner break), Monday - Thursday with additional mandatory overtime required based on production goals.** 

**Mandatory overtime is posted weekly on Wednesdays by Noon.  We are currently experiencing consistent mandatory overtime scheduling.  

Role & Responsibility

Summary of essential tasks and functions of this position:

  • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device attached to hoist.
  • Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids or lifting device by hand as needed.
  • Loads parts manually from racks, tubs, and/or bins in warehouse to trays or racks kit carts.
  • Follows set route through department to load kit carts.
  • Loads and unloads parts manually from paint line.
  • Maintains safety checks on necessary equipment.
  • Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with safety rules and regulations. 
  • Uses electronic scanner to transact material as needed

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Keeping forklift and walking paths clean and orderly
  • Assists in the instruction and training of others as requested by supervisor
  • Completes preventative maintenance and other duties as directed
  • Perform other non-essential duties as assigned by supervisor or lead to meet team production goals

Working Environment/Conditions of the Job:

Work is performed in a manufacturing shop environment.  Conditions include proximity to moving mechanical and steel parts, exposure to high noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection, exposure to vibration through the use of tools and equipment and
slippery and sloping surfaces and uneven terrain.  Subject to air and skin exposures to chemical hazards and atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory system such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists and gases.

Safety of our employees is very important to us! You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as steel toed work boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs.  The company reimburses up to $110 annually for boots.  Glasses and ear plugs provided by the company. 

Physical Demands of this Role:

The overall level of work is defined as medium duty.  Employees are expected to exert 21 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 11 to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
