Job Information

The Regional Director is a key leadership role in our commercial organization, who will make an instant impact to the business, by taking full responsibility of their assigned region to execute strategic regional plans to achieve sales and profit goals.  This position must team closely with peers in the marketing, finance, financial services, parts/service, and dealers to accomplish strategic objectives.

Role & Responsibility

Staff Management

  • Work with direct reports to resolve obstacles.
  • Identify development opportunities for District Managers & ensure implementation.
  • Identify high potential District Managers and design development specific to next career level
  • Mentor junior Regional Managers and high potential District Managers.

Sales Development

  • Recommend & implement sales promotional programs to promote sales growth balanced against company profitability.
  • Ensure that the voice of dealer, customers, and external partners are heard in all levels of Doosan Bobcat.

Channel and Dealer Management

  • Oversee annual, regional revenue targets to all channels through price realization, channel maximization and process improvements
  • Provide constant analysis of sales region capabilities, potential and threats
  • Strategic distribution management.  Develop long-term territory distribution strategies
  • Drive the improvement of sales capabilities of dealers; terminate dealers when necessary, and screen/recruit new dealers
  • Provide effective and accurate unit forecasting and planning on a dealer, district and regional level
  • Achieve stocking and retail sales goals by directing District Manager relations with dealers and assisting District Managers on a one on one basis with difficult negotiations
  • Work with the field sales group to resolve channel conflict when it arises
  • Prepare demand forecast for the region monthly
  • Manage relationships through all channels, including National Rental Accounts, Independent Rental Accounts, Strategic Accounts and OEM’s for the region coordinating with specialty sales teams where necessary
  • Ensure effective management of annual budgets
  • Utilize Salesforce.com for communications, discount management, opportunities, etc.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10-15 years of experience, including at minimum of 5 years of dealer territory or direct sales
  • Assertive negotiation skills
  • High level of business acumen pertaining to manufacturing and independent dealer relationships
  • Ability to analyze dealer financial statements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective cross-functional teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated due to “home office” arrangement 
  • Strong time management skills and priority focus
  • MS Office Suite proficiency
  • Innovative skillset to seek out new ideas and approaches and make continuous improvements.
  • Travel requirements: 50% or more
