Job Information

The Attachment Product Manager will manage the marketing activities associated with the overall innovation, development and marketing of attachment products for construction equipment. This position includes maximizing gross profit potential while keeping customer expectations in focus. 

Role & Responsibility

  • Supply design criteria based upon customer requirements for new attachment products, set up periodic design reviews, and recommend product changes based on Voice of Customer and warranty service records.
  • Participate in product planning sessions, working with Engineering, Finance, and Attachment Operations management for new products and product updates.
  • Engage in product reviews related to carriers and new generation products providing attachment fit-up information and requirements.
  • Review and respond to new attachment inventor ideas submitted through various channels.
  • Make recommendations on product pricing based on market requirements and basic profit requirements set forth by management.
  • Assist, in conjunction with marketing managers, with timing of ad campaigns, approving ad literature, and production of magazine ads and promotional campaigns.
  • Assist with the development of operation and safety manuals, as well as review warranty data to make recommendations for changes.
  • Assist with field sales and tech sales support by supplying sales and technical information on the product.
  • Develop and publish schedules of product changes and introductions.
  • Develop initial forecasts for new attachments for develop of appropriations and initial order quantities of parts.
  • Responsible for gathering comprehensive Voice of Customer analysis to support product development activities.
  • Lead and/or participate in market research activities (both quantitative and qualitative) to understand customer needs (Voice of Customer, Quality Function Deployment, Focus Groups, and Dealer Visits).
  • Develop and draw conclusions on the results of product research.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Marketing or related field
  • 5+ years' experience in product management, engineering or sales and marketing
  • 5+ years’ experience in the equipment business
  • Construction product (or related) development knowledge
  • Financial acumen
  • Strong communication skills (team leadership, presentations)
  • Ability to make sound, timely decisions
  • MS Office Suite proficiency
  • Travel Required: 20-50%
